Event Sponsorship

The City of Port Adelaide Enfield, through its Events Sponsorship Program, aims to provide financial and in-kind support to organisations conducting festivals and other special events, which generate tourism activity and increase the public profile of the City of Port Adelaide Enfield. 

The sponsorship program receives applications twice per year.

Event Funding Applications for 2017/2018 - Round Two
Opens Monday 21st August 2017 and closes 3pm Friday 22nd September 2017
for events taking place between 1 January 2018 to 30 September 2018.

We will be running two Grant Information Workshops aimed for applications wishing to apply for Round Two Event Funding. The Workshops will take place on Wednesday 23rd August at 5:30pm and Thursday 24th August at 5:30pm at the Town Hall, Nile St, Port Adelaide. Sponsorship Program Aims

The aims of the City of Port Adelaide Enfield's Event Sponsorship Program are to:

Support the development of vibrant, creative and innovative events that enhance the economic, social and cultural life of the City

  • Establish partnerships to achieve recognition for the City
  • Increase tourist visitation to the City
  • Deliver measurable economic benefits to the City
  • Facilitate community involvement in events and activities
  • Attract new and diverse events to the City
  • To give increased support to events that build and reinforce the unique and positive attributes of the City

Program Categories

The Sponsorship Program - General/Major Events has two categories:

Category One: General Events Sponsorship (up to $5,000)

Funding provided to events held within the City of Port Adelaide Enfield that meet the aims of Council's Sponsorship Program

Category Two: Major Events Sponsorship (up to $12,000)

Funding provided to major/significant events held within the City of Port Adelaide Enfield that meet the aims of Council's Sponsorship Program, attract substantial economic benefit and visitation to the City and undertake strategic and targeted marketing

Which category should I apply for?

All applicants should apply for under the 'General Events Sponsorship' category, unless it can be proved that the proposed event will:

  • attract substantial intra- and inter-state visitation to the City (i.e. approx 8,000 to 10,000+ visitors per event day)
  • deliver substantial and measurable economic benefit to the City
  • incorporate strategic and targeted marketing practices in its planning and implementation

If your event meets the thee above criteria, you should apply under the 'Major Events' category.

Event organisers need to liaise closely with the City of Port Adelaide Enfield Events & Grants Officer to ensure the event is compatible with the program guidelines.

Applicant Eligibility Criteria

Before submitting your application, please check that you meet the following eligibility criteria - all four boxes must be ticked or your application will not be eligible for funding

  • The organisation is an incorporated body or, if not incorporated, is being auspiced by an incorporated body
  • The proposed event is covered by a current Public Liability Insurance Policy to the value of $10 million
  • Provide either an Australian Business Number (ABN) or complete the Australian Taxation Office "Statement by a Supplier" form
  • The proposed event is to be held within the City of Port Adelaide Enfield boundary
  • The proposed event is open to the general public
  • Address the criteria outlined in the Event Sponsorship Guidelines and Application Form

Your proposal is INELIGIBLE for funding if:

  • Your proposal is for funding towards costs associated with running an organisation (e.g. salaries, equipment)
  • Your proposal is for retrospective funding or funding of budget deficits
  • Your proposed event is not open to the general public
  • Your proposed event is to take place outside the City of Port Adelaide Enfield boundary
  • Your organisation has not fulfilled previous sponsorship obligations, including provision of post event evaluation/report and financial acquittal
  • Your organisation is not an incorporated body, or if your proposal is not auspiced by an incorporated body
