An outbreak of Queensland Fruit Fly (Q-fly) has been declared in the Woodville Gardens area following the detection of three male flies in the area on Friday 19 January 2018, and a total of 5 single flies within the previous 14 days.
A quarantine zone has been stablished with a 1.5km radius outbreak area has been established around the outbreak centre. Host fruit cannot be removed from properties inside the outbreak zone.
All properties and businesses within the outbreak zone will receive information from Biosecurity SA about the outbreak and associated restrictions.
Suburbs included in the 1.5km outbreak area include:
- Angle Park
- Athol Park
- Ferryden Park
- Mansfield Park
- Regency Park
- St Clair
- Woodville Gardens
- Woodville North
- Woodville Park
A 15km suspension area has also been established beyond the 1.5km outbreak area. If you are a commercial grower within this suspension area, you can apply treatments under accreditation to move fruit.
The quarantine and suspension areas will remain in place until at least 14 April 2018.
