Piling Works at Osborne Naval Shipbuilding Precinct
Recently you may have heard some banging on the peninsula. This is due to construction of major infrastructure at the Osborne Naval Shipbuilding Precinct
These facilities will deliver new warships to the Royal Australian Navy for at least the next fifty years. In addition, new facilities will also be constructed at a later date to support the construction of new submarines for the Navy. Once in full production, it is expected that over 4,000 South Australians will be employed in the Osborne Naval Shipyards.
The Osborne Naval Shipbuilding Precinct is the nation’s premier naval industry hub located within the former Techport Precinct at Osborne. Late last year, Lendlease was announced as the managing contractor in partnership with Australian Naval Infrastructure, to deliver a new shipyard and upgrade of existing facilities at the precinct.
As a result of these scheduled works, you may experience some low levels of noise and vibration as the piling work begins at the site. Work is scheduled Monday through Saturday each week and the expected to continue until late this year.
Please be assured that Lendlease staff are working hard to minimise the construction impacts on residents and businesses and the project has been carefully planned to follow all relevant construction requirements and restrictions.
